Development and production of a central control element for controlling the vehicle's differential locks
The differential lock switch is installed in the dashboard as standard equipment and central control element. It enables the control of the vehicle's three differential locks. The housing made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic conceals a complex control unit with standardized operating system and 32-bit processor. A connection to both the CAN and LIN interfaces of the vehicle was ensured. In order to avoid faulty actuation, the system is developed and manufactured according to functional safety requirements, in compliance with ISO standard 26262, ASIL level B.
